Wings off to great start

With goal production way up this year in the NHL, it's great to see Manny Legace standing up and rightfully taking his spot as the number one goalie in Detriot.

The young Legace has 12 wins (most in NHL) and a GAA of 2.02. This is all after he missed roughly a week or so to a leg injury.
So what does this say?

It says that I am greatly satisfied that Manny Legace has finally gotten his chance to play full time. When the wings signed Chris Osgood, I thought the wings were doomed this season, with the combination of the aging superstars Chelios (43), Yzerman (40), Shannahan (36), and Schnieder (36). The one bright spot I saw before the season started was Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Legace. Thankfully, Legace got the nod to start the season and has not looked back. Osgood makes a great-back goalie for the Wings and it really helps to have play-off experiance, especially from a goalie.

As of 11/15/05 Redwings hold the best record in hockey, have the most points scored (31), and have played exceptionally well on the road (7-1-0) ,(15-3-1 Overall). This is, keep in mind, basically without their capitain Steve Yzerman (11GP, Averaging 12.01 minutes per game, 1 Goal, 3 Assists) and without a one of their youngest talents Niklas Kronwall (Left Knee Surgery, out 4-6 months-who i was more excited to see then Osgood in net). So I have my eye on the playoffs, and can only hope that these old timers dont lose steam.
